As the Spring term gets into full swing, I am really looking forward to meeting new people and connecting face-to-face with my PLN, including George Couros, Neil Stephenson, Zoe Branigan-Pipe, Rodd Lucier, and Brian Harrison at the ConnectEDCanada conference May 25th-27th, 2012 at the Calgary Science School.
What excites me most about this new ANNUAL conference is that it will take place in a different school every year, and is completely participant driven. To this end, I am delighted that my session was accepted. Here’s the write up:
Invitations for Judgement: It’s Critical
Critical thinking is THE essential skill for today’s learner, but educators struggle with how to get started. This session shares how one K-8 school developed a common focus on critical thinking, and raised teacher capacity to plan, instruct, and assess critical thinking using new digital literacies.
It’d be great to meet some #ctchat participants from our Wednesday night (7-8 PM EST) Twitter chats. If you can make your way west to gorgeous Calgary this Spring, let me know if we can connect-I’d love to share ideas with you.
Hope to see you there!
